ROSES ARE RED, drugs are bad
Staying off Drugs is the Best Experience I've Had

OR

COLOR ME A DRUG FREE RAINBOW

(By Caroline S. Mackay)

This program is in rhyme using the roses are red, violets are blue verse.

Students dress in the color and they learn the verse.

Find your own rainbow song and teach the whole school so that they can all participate.

It was written for a Red Ribbon Week Assembly and was real fun for the students participating.

Student 4 is the student that tries to get the audience involved.

To help you keep tobacco, alcohol and drugs away.

STUDENT 3:  (comes to the mike on the right)
These colors are wiser than they tend to show
Let’s have them tell you what they all know.

(Student 4, dressed in blue, comes to the left mike)

                             Violets are blue

How about you? (points to the audience)

(Student 5, dressed in black, comes to the right mike)

STUDENT 5:      Roses are red
                             Night is black
                             I won’t take drugs

(Student 6, dressed in dark green, comes to the left mike.)

STUDENT 6:      Roses are red
                             Trees are forest green
                             Taking lots of drugs
Could make me real mean. (Makes a mean face)

(Student 7, dressed in white, comes to the right mike.)

STUDENT 7:      Roses are red
                             Sheets are white
                             Someone offers me drugs
I’d say that is just not right. (Put hands on hips)
