SONG: THERE'S ONLY ONE AMERICA by Ruth Roberts (or any other patriotic song about America)
NARRATOR 1: As Americans we are really lucky to be here
We lieve with freedoms that we hold so dear.
Throughout this land that we call the USA
We have symbols that we see each and every day.
These symbols that you will readily recognize
Come in various colors and shapes and size.
When we see them they make our hearts sing
The feelings of peace, safety and love they bring.
NARRATOR 2: Long ago if Benjamin Franklin had had his way
Our national symbol would be the turkey we eat Thanksgiving day.
But now our national symbol is the American Bald Eagle
They are fierce, (pause) proud, (pause) loyal and very regal.
It's wings can span up to eight long feet
Dive at 100 miles per hour when going for salmon meat.
It gets its white head and taile when it's about four
And is ever so beautiful whenever you see it soar.
NARRATOR 3: The Statue of Liberty is the lady in New York harbor
To many immigrants she has opened our door
A hundreth birthday present, France she was sent
To us freedom of worship and speech she has really meant.
