This program was written for a school patriotic assembly.  The narration was done by one class, but the singing was done by the whole audience.  It could be used by the school and have one grade level do each song or it could be used by one class as a patriotic program to present to their parents or veterans groups.

SAMPLE OF SCRIPT

(Narrators 1, 2, and 3 come to the mikes.)

NARRATOR 1: I’m only one person so what can I do
To keep the American Spirit strong and true?

NARRATOR 2: I’m only one person I can’t do a lot
To save the freedoms for which many bravely fought.

NARRATOR 3: I’m only one person, one of so many
How can I serve this land with freedoms a plenty?

(Narrators 1 and 2 sit down.)

SONG: AMERICA
(Sing the first verse and then sing it again and substitute these words)
