Mother Willya
By Caroline S. Mackay
This program is in rhyme so that it is easy to memorize. It takes a child through the whole school year from starting school to ending school and includes many of the things that a child will ask his mother to do during the year. It includes places for songs that you know for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. If you do not want to put the song in then you can elect to leave it out. Any of the parts that you wish to delete will still leave you with a complete program.

Sample
Speaker 1: Mothers and fathers (if there are any)
Our welcomes to you are aplenty.
Your help we thank you for this year.
Our grades would have suffered, without, I fear.
Speaker 2: Now let me introduce our friend right here (Points to Mother Willya)
Her name is Mother Willya, and she lives quite near.
Listen carefully to our parts.
You will certainly recognize her in your hearts.
Speaker 3: (This speaker should wear a dress)
School's in a week and I'm in a mess
Mother Willya buy me a brand new dress?
Make sure it has pockets for me to use.
Come on Mother Willya, come on and choose.
SONG: Any beginning of the school year song like School Days
