Our First Year

This program is for preschool and Kindergarten classes.

Written in rhyme for easy learning.

Suggested songs and poems.  Many of them are real simple and can be sung to simple nursery rhyme songs or you could substitute songs that you already use in your classes.

 OUR FIRST YEAR

 SPEAKER 1:              We welcome you to our show
                                    We want to show you what we know.
                                    Each and every day we start
                                    With our hands on our hearts.

 PLEDGE:  (The students and audience should stand and say the pledge to the flag.  You may have to bring a flag in if you do not have one where you are  performing.)

 SPEAKER 1:              We sing songs of the United States
                                     On every patriotic date.

 SONG:            THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND  (or any patriotic song)                              

 SPEAKER 2:              This year we learned our ABC’s
                                     We want to say them, if you please.

 (Each child should have a letter at their feet so that they can hold it up when then say their line.  Have them stand, say their line, and then hold their sign waist high.)

 SPEAKER 3:              A is an airplane in the sky.

 SPEAKER 4:              B is a bike for a real tough guy.

 SPEAKER 5:              C is for cake that you can buy.

 SPEAKER 6:              D is for a duck that really can fly.

 (You could have these four students sit down at this point if they are getting wiggly. And have the next four stand up.)

 SPEAKER 7:              E is for elephants all dressed in gray.

 SPEAKER 8:              F is for the farmer who is out in the hay

SPEAKER 9:              G is for ghosts that fly real high.

 SPEAKER 10:            H is for hands with which we can all play.

 (You could have these four students sit down at this point if they are getting wiggly. And have the next four stand up.)
